David O. Becker

For over 20 years, David Becker has served as Chief Executive Officer and President of Cottingham & Butler, leading all business operations for the company and its subsidiaries. His approach to leadership supports the firm’s overarching value of partnering with clients to protect their most valuable assets through values of integrity, transparency, dignity, and respect.

Before his tenure began at Cottingham & Butler, David spent 8 years with McKinsey & Company in Chicago, IL, where he acted as a Partner specializing in issues related to strategy and marketing. Prior, David worked for IBM in a sales and marketing capacity.

Within his community of Dubuque, Iowa, David serves as a board member for the Greater Dubuque Development Corporation. David is also an active member of the Washington University Olin School of Business National Council, and formerly held the position of President for the Council of Insurance Agents and Brokers.

David earned his BS in Computer Science as well as his MBA from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, where he graduated magna cum laude. He then continued his academic pursuits at Harvard Law School, earning his Juris Doctorate in 1995.
